Chuukese word of the day: riafou

Riafou: suffering, hardship
Riafou literally means "hardening of suffering" ria (suffer) + fou (to harden or stick).  So one can say that it can also mean the apparent permanance of emotional unease or difficulty.

It is a noun so we can say things like "I am experiencing riafou" or "I am feeling riafou" .  Other usage of the word include "ateria" (guy consumed with riafou) and "rian netipei" (the sufferings of my heart".

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk lmao
